Beat The Box – Streaming Devices

Previously, I posted about different TV streaming accounts to use to cut your cable bill down. That list includes popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Go. What is streaming without the perfect streaming device? It is nothing, nothing at all. I’m sure plenty of you stream on your Playstation or Xbox but there are so many other options.

I am not suggesting to go buy a new device if you love using your gaming system to stream, continue to use it. If you are one of those who do not have a gaming system or have multiple TV’s there are options for you that are far cheaper than purchasing a Wii, Playstation or Xbox.

  • Apple TV
  • Roku (Roku 2, Roku 3, Roku 4, Roku Streaming Stick)
  • Chromecast
  • Amazon Firestick

I have not used all of these devices to create a review, I can just give you the facts. Facts matter. You decide off what you think is best for you. If you want to read a dope review check out this one I found on CNET. A quick note, if your WiFi sucks, you may want to get a device you can directly connect to your internet router.

Chromecast – $35

  • Chromecast is by far the cheapest
  • Has the most popular streaming services
  • Wifi enabled
  • There is not an included remote
  • If you can watch it on your phone, tablet, ipad you can watch it on the Chromecast

Amazon Firestick – $39.99

    • Comes with the Alexa Voice Remote
    • Has the most popular streaming services
    • Wifi enabled
    • Geared more towards Amazon Prime and Amazon users

  • Now you can get a cracked firestick where you can watch everything for free. #TheNewBootlegTV

Roku Streaming Stick

  • Offers the most apps
  • Comes with a remote
  • Has the most popular streaming services
  • Wifi enabled
